Hello!
I’m Vicky Brooks. I’m an educator turned edupreneur, founder of Give Spark, and a fierce advocate for transforming education from the inside out.
With over 15 years of teaching experience in classrooms around the world, I have seen the extraordinary potential of young learners and the ways traditional systems drastically hold them back.
I began my career in high-achieving, academically rigorous schools. I poured my energy into making learning joyful, creative, and meaningful. But no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the system to truly work for the kids. It was like planting wildflowers in concrete. Something was fundamentally off.
So I started to learn.
I began studying the history of schooling. I wanted to understand how it was built, who designed it, and why it was the way it was. What I discovered changed everything.
Our education system was not designed to nurture curiosity or individuality. It was engineered during the Industrial Age, shaped by people like Frederick Taylor who believed that efficiency and obedience were more important than creativity or thought. It was a system built to produce workers, not thinkers.
Over time, we began ranking children by how well they fit a mold. We created the idea of an “average” student and treated it like a goal. But that average student does not exist. Still, we compare every child to that imaginary standard. The result is a system that quietly tells children they are behind or broken simply because they do not match a fictional ideal.
That myth is not just outdated. It is harmful. It distorts how children see themselves and strips away the joy of learning.
At Give Spark, my mission is clear: to revolutionize education by dismantling the outdated model and building something better. A model rooted in curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Give Spark is a space for educators who believe that learning should be meaningful, joyful, and deeply human — where children are respected as individuals, not reduced to data points.
Here you will find bold ideas, practical tools, and ready-to-use projects that help bring learning to life. My goal is to support you in creating classrooms where kids feel seen, inspired, and empowered to think for themselves.
We’ve inherited an education system built for obedience, not brilliance.
We don’t have to keep it.
The system we have was built for standardization, not imagination.
It was designed to sort children, not see them.
We don’t need to tweak it.
We need to transform it.
Let’s build something worthy of childhood.
Let’s ignite a generation of thinkers, creators, and changemakers.
